As\n a  black travel professional, I have a unique perspective that travel \nbrands, visitor bureaus and consumers can sometimes overlook. It’s \nimportant for people to be aware of the contributions made by black \nbloggers to the travel industry because we inspire people to travel the \nworld that may not think it’s possible. And let’s face it…black people\n are dope. We bring a dopeness to travel blogging that isn’t like that \nof our counterparts! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honor of Black History Month, I am \nsharing 11 of my favorite black travel bloggers with you (well, 12 \nreally but two of them run one site), who are sharing their passion for \ntravel with the world. You already know of sites such as Travel Noire<\/a>, Nomadness Travel Tribe<\/a>, and Tastemakers Africa<\/a>, but here are some other travel bloggers you shouldn’t miss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Black and Abroad<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Black and Abroad<\/a>\n “is a cultural collective dedicated to redefining world experiences for\n the modern black traveler.” Kent and Eric have created a successful \nbrand that includes ‘Black and Abroad’ merchandise, which you’ll find on\n the savviest of black travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The Globe Getter<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Globe Getter<\/a>\n “is focused on one thing: showing that it’s possible to work AND \ntravel.” I love Tausha’s writing style and relevant content. She’s also \nfeatured me in her “Globe Getters” series, so be sure to read that here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Thirty 30 Courtney<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

4. The Sophisticated Life<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Blogger by day, physician by night, Nadeen of The Sophisticated Life<\/a> is a wine and food enthusiast. She curates city and country guides, offering a sophisticated outlook for your travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Work Hard Travel Well<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Work Hard Travel Well<\/a>\n is “designed to inspire people to choose travel as the best reward for \ntheir hard work.” Its founder, Kim, recently published The Ultimate \nGuide to CIAA and all about her trip to Havana, Cuba. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Outdoorsy Diva<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Lauren, the Outdoorsy Diva<\/a>, aims to inspire women to “travel more, embrace the great outdoors, and cater to their inner foodie.” She recently published “10 Black History Month Travel Destinations”<\/a> so be sure to check that out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Hotel Whisperer<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Hotel Whisperer<\/a>,\n Danielle Pointdujour, has “introduced and connected a younger \ngeneration to luxury brands, experiences and destinations previously \nthought to only be enjoyed by business and seasoned travelers.” \nCurrently a Senior Editor for Ebony Magazine, her works has appeared on \nESSENCE, Yahoo Travel, Travel Noire, Parlour Magazine and Clutch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metanoya Z. Webb, the Globetrotting Stiletto<\/a>,\n is a “self-proclaimed shoe addict never jet-sets without at least one \npair of designer heels.” In addition to her own fashionable travels, \nMetanoya features ‘Globetrotting Stilettos’ (other bad ass women \ntravelers) on her site. We’ve co-hosted Women of Color Travel<\/a> (along with Jess of The Dining Traveler<\/a>), so I just adore her!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Rachel Travels<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The goal for Rachel of Rachel Travels<\/a>\n is to “empower Millennials of color to look at travel as a necessity \nfor growth, and expansion, not as a luxury that is limited to some.” \nRachel sends out alerts for the latest travel deals and fare glitches so\n be sure to sign up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
