Join Sankofa Odyssey as we explore Zanzibar and the neighboring islands for 2 weeks of relaxation, dining, adventure, and fun.

We’ll spend 7 nights exploring the island of Zanzibar, 2 nights exploring Nyerere National Park on Safari, and 4 nights sailing Zanzibar and the neighboring islands. Art, shopping, nightlife, historical sites, caves, and more await you.

Your adventure begins when you depart on Friday, June 28, 2024, and arrive at Zanzibar Airport code ZNZ either late Saturday evening or very early Sunday morning June 30 depending on your departure city (you lose a day.)

Your adventure ends on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 when you will fly out of Zanzibar to your home airport. You must cover your airfare.

The sail part of the vacation will be crewed with certified Tanzanian Captains that know the waters and all the secret hangout spots where you may even be able to swim with wild dolphins. Our captains are experts at organizing the crew and ensuring we have a truly enjoyable experience. YOU NEVER LOSE SITE OF LAND. Our boats are never over crowded. And no worries if you have never sailed or cannot swim, that’s ok too!

Day 1: Pajet

Your driver will pick you up from Zanzibar airport and transport you to the beach side SBH Monica all-inclusive resort on Paje beach. Rest and Relax from your long journey

Days 2 and 3: Land tours

Now that you’ve rested it’s time to begin your first land tour Zanzibar has a lot to offer from Spice Farms and caves to art and history.

Day 4: Paje Beach resort

Take a day to enjoy the beautiful beach and shops at Paget or just simply chill out in your lounge with a cocktail and enjoy the beautiful view. Perhaps you’d like to take a kiteboard lesson. Many options for you just to pick your own destination for the day. As soon you will be boarding a short domestic flight on day 5 to the Safari Park.

Days 5 – 7: Safari

You’ll be transported from the beach resort back to the airport where you will board a short 45 minute flight from Zanzibar to the mainland of Tanzania. You will disembark right in the middle of Nyerere Safari Park. Which is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania. All of your meals and transportation will be included in the Safari Park. Your lodging is included too. Your Safari experience is sure to be an amazing one. You’ll see hundreds of African animals in the wild and with luck you’ll see all of the BIG Five. In the evening we will return to the lodge inside of the Safari Park where you will have dinner cocktails and a Masai security guard to escort you.

Days 7 -11: Sail Zanzibar

I bet you didn’t know that there were islands to the north of Zanzibar. Get ready as you’re about to go explore some of those islands in the north as well as to the east. But make sure you are ready to slip on your snorkel gear and fins so that you can swim with wild dolphins and sea turtles. We’ll also troll fish along the way and eat some of the freshest fish you’ve ever had. We’ll also make sure we stop for a beach barbecue one evening. No worries about cooking or cleaning as the boat will be fully provisioned with all meals and a cook. We also will have air conditioning on the boats in case it gets warm at night.

Day 11-15: Nungwi Beach Resort

Wow! You’ve already seen so much. From the Big Five animals on Safari, to swimming with wild dolphins. But it’s not over yet as we have more land tours to explore. But first check into your all-inclusive resort at Nungwi Beach Resort on the north end of Zanzibar Island Nungwi Beach is known for its beauty and activities with bars restaurants and shopping.
